New music video- Ice Cube: “Gansta Rap Made Me Do It”.
The Grandfather of Gangsta, Ice Cube, comes straight outta Compton filming Are We Done Yet? (the brilliant sequel to Are We There Yet?– oh, the hilarity) to bring you his first single “Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It,” off his forthcoming next album “Raw Footage”. It’s a very thought-provoking and hugely inspiring video. For example, after seeing that video I now want to grow an afro.
The lyrics are all based around his history in gangsta culture and provides a great universal excuse, whatever the occasion. In an interview* with Rolling Stone magazine in October 2007 Ice Cube was asked why in the name of all things holy did he star in (and executive produce) Barbershop 2: Back In Business. “Gangsta rap made me do it”, he replied. In the future, if I forget to do some important paperwork or get asked why I beat up or killed someone, I’ll reply “gangsta rap made me do it”. The possibilites are endless and inconsequential thanks to Mister Cube.
If you were looking for some good old fashioned country driving music or something to set the tone for the more intimate times and you wanted to download this song, I’d advise against it because it’s highly illegal. I wouldn’t dare tell you to click this forbidden blue link (wink, wink) and whatever you do, don’t download that file (nudge, nudge).
