The Album Cover Meme

I was sent this in an email and totally missed that it was a popular meme from over a week ago, which as we all know is 5.2 years in internet-land.

Here are the basic steps:

  1. The first article title on this page is the name of your band.
  2. The last four words of the very last quote on this page is the title of your album.
  3. The third picture here, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Here are a few of the best ones I made up earlier today:

As with most of the other album covers I made, I had to squeeze the picture together to square it off as most CD covers are. I think the end result is pretty cool. I might have cheated with 5 words as the album title but that was the entire quote, to be fair. Also, I didn’t actually read the part that it had to be 4 words. It’s an odd band name taken from a plane so I reckon they could be the next U2.

This is awesome. Rock band Sunny Lane (who’s name is taken from a porn star, no less) present the only album to include the word ostentation in it’s title. [Update: Via iTunes, I found out that a wierd electronica band called Neurepublik had an album titled ‘Ostentatious’ which is close but who listens to electronica? Nobodies, that’s who.]

This was a very lucky mix of elements. They’re immortal skulls that look like a creepy choir pictured singing. This cover is one of my favourites. Maybe because the text is in a different position to the rest of the album covers. Maybe it’s because they remind me of how great He-Man was and how he showed Skeletor who’s the boss. As we all know, it’s Tony Danza.

I suppose you could find some connection in the illustration and the album title. Man crashes bike into car, sleeps all day in a coma. With an album cover like that, you know it’s hardcore folk music or some underground sean ós. Imagine how awesome that would be.

  1. It’s cause you’re much better at stuff than me…

  2. That’s not true. As proven by the award you won and I wasn’t even nominated for.
